Mike Hull

Lead Pastor

Mike and Kristen have been married 15 years and have a son, Judah.

They have been serving together in ministry for the past 16 years, where Mike has served as Youth Pastor, Lead Pastor and Teaching Pastor.

Almost 4 years ago, God called the Hulls to Fargo and they instantly fell in love with the people and community that have become their home.

Over the past several months, God has brought Mike and Kristen back to a long-held dream on their hearts to plant a church! It has become evident that He’s been preparing the ground work long before they had any idea that this would be a reality.

With this realization, they have said yes to the mission God has given them... to point people towards life WITH Him and others!

Stephen Abbott

Discipleship Pastor

Stephen and his wife Stephanie recently celebrated 22 years of marriage and have a four kids at home (Ava, Mya, Ian, and Aly).

Stephen has served in various roles in ministry including Young Adult & Family Pastor, Lead Pastor and Spiritual Growth Pastor. He and Stephanie are uniquely gifted in pastoral care and love investing together in healthy marriages and thriving families.

Stephen is excited to teach, equip and shepherd others as they develop their character and discover their God-given callings at True North Church!

Kayla Emmerich

Hospitality Director

Kayla and Josh are high school sweethearts. They just celebrated 14 years of marriage and have two kids, Jackson and Ellie.

Before joining True North, Kayla worked from home, running her own business, building relationships with so many strangers - turned friends, and helping people with total wellness. Her heart is to love people and love them well.

Kayla and Josh moved back to the F-M community almost 2 years ago, from Arizona. When they moved, their church in AZ, said, "Hey, maybe you’ll plant a church!". Never did they actually think God’s plan would bring them back here to be part of this! Kayla is excited about what God is already doing AND what He has in store for all of us and our community, beyond what we could possibly imagine.

Kathryn Kingsley

KIDS Director

Kathryn & her husband Alex have been married since 2008. Together, they have 5 busy kiddos; Hudson, Porter, Samuel, Auggie, and their suprise little lady, Haddie. As a family they enjoy time with friends and family, movie nights, time at the lake, board games, and traveling.

Kathryn is a Fargo native and has been in ministry in some capacity since 2007. Her ministry has taken place within church walls, as a stay at home mom, and through being a coffee shop owner. A majority of her time has been spent in children and youth ministries. Her passion is encouraging others to grow in their faith by including God in their day to day lives and activities.

She is excited about being a part of the TNC team and looks forward to helping lead the next generation towards Christ!

Emily Potter

Discipleship Director

Emily is married to Brian, and together they have two wonderful daughters, Lydia and Victoria.

She serves as our Discipleship Director, helping to support and guide all things related to discipleship at True North Church. For the past twenty years, Emily has loved investing in people through shepherding, leading groups, and diving deep into God’s Word through Bible Study Fellowship.

Emily’s heart is to walk alongside others as they grow in their faith, sharing what God has taught her and helping each person discover the beautiful plans the Lord has for their life.

Mark Proulx

Worship Director

Mark and Megan have been married for almost 14 years and have two beautiful girls, Cora and Hazel.

Mark been in ministry full time since 2008, first as a youth director and most recently as worship leader for the last 6 years. His heart song is to obediently lead people into a closer relationship with our Creator through music.

As a family the Proulxs are committed to good home-cooked meals around the dinner table, dance parties in their living room, bike rides into the unknown, and finding adventure in all the wild outdoor spaces that God has created.

Ashley Blank

COMMUNICATIONS director

Ashley is born and raised in the FM area and has always called this community home. She is married to her best friend and love of her life, Carl, who is a drummer on the worship team and she has two beautiful (step)daughters, Kendra and Carli. They have been a part of True North Church since day one!

Ashley comes from the marketing world and has a deep passion for connecting with people, building relationships and helping people develop a personal relationship with Jesus and find their purpose.

Matt Short

Family Pastor

Matt and his wife, Kaleigh, have been married almost 7 years and have 2 kids, Avery and Ollie. They also have two dogs, Watson and Penny (he’s not a huge fan, but yet still snuggles with them at night).

Matt has worked in corporate America the past 7 years with a technology company. In 2011 he moved from Oklahoma City to New Orleans to help plant a church before moving to Fargo three and half years ago. Matt has served in many different capacities in ministry his whole life, from traveling the country, to volunteering, to leading volunteers.

Matt loves connecting with people and hearing their stories, especially over Tacos and Table Top Board Games (yes, it’s proper because it’s a THING!).

Jenny Werner

Operations Director

Jenny is Married to Derek, and together they have 2 boys, Peyton and Sam.

Jenny was previously in the health and wellness industry for 15 years. Everything from group fitness instructor, personal trainer, and then owning a fitness studio, before joining True North on staff in 2022.

Jenny started at True North as the administrative assistant for the Mike until January of 2025 when her role evolved, and she now serves in the role of operations director.

Jenny passion lies in creating process and systems, and loves to support others in the
building the kingdom through their specific gifts!

Sarah Kuck

OFFICE ADMINISTRATOR

Sarah and her husband Shawn have been happily married for 27 years and are the proud parents of three amazing boys - Noah, Tommy, and Sam. As a family, they love exploring the outdoors 🏔️, discovering new travel spots, and taste-testing Shawn’s latest gourmet creations (he’s the family’s resident chef and culinary adventurer!)👨🏻‍🍳
Professionally, Sarah has worked in the wallpaper and fabric design industry, as well as education, but her greatest passion is connecting with people. Her hope and prayer is to encourage those around her to live out an authentic relationship with Jesus by investing intentionally and compassionately in their spiritual journey!

Cody Verret

Worship Production Assistant

Cody is a producer, musician, and animator with a passion for creativity that serves both faith and community. With experience in music production and visual storytelling, Cody enjoys using sound and animation to support worship, share meaningful messages, and bring ideas to life.

His work blends technical skill with a heart for excellence, always aiming to create art that is engaging, thoughtful, and uplifting.

Mya Abbott

Family Ministries Coordinator

Mya has lived in Fargo for the past seven years and has been part of True North Church since the very beginning. As the daughter of Discipleship Pastor Stephen Abbott, she grew up serving in ministry and developed a deep love for the church and the people in it. She is currently studying Social Work at Minnesota State University Moorhead and is passionate about helping kids, students, and families grow in their relationship with Jesus. Mya loves the energy of youth ministry and especially enjoys seeing the moment when students begin to understand who Jesus is and their faith becomes their own. Her heart is to see the next generation love Jesus and love others well as they grow together in faith and glorify His name. In her free time, Mya enjoys walking, hiking, and running with her dogs, getting coffee with friends, reading a good book, and spending time with her family playing board games, watching movies, and going on road trips.

Amanda Krautkremer

DIRECTOR OF COMMUNICATIONS

Amanda and Kody met while working as R.A.’s at Minnesota State University Moorhead, and 12 years later, they’re still doing life together with their two kids, Flip and Ophelia, and their newest family member, John Lena, their pitfall terrier.

Amanda started her career in communications through FM radio with over 10 years of experience. Her love of communication, music, and people grew into a passion of connecting to others through storytelling. She’s been a part of the True North worship team since the start, and is blessed to bring her love of communications and worship together as True North’s Communications Director.

Joining True North on staff is an answered prayer and a beautiful reminder of God’s timing. She’s excited to serve our True North community and walk alongside each other as we discover all the ways God leads us next.

Ben Helland

CONNECTIONS AND GROWTH COORDINATOR

Ben moved to Fargo in 2018 and quickly came to call the F/M area home. He spent the early part of his career in the business community, where he built strong relationships with local leaders and discovered a shared foundation among many of them—their faith.
After sensing God’s call to ministry for nearly a decade, Ben took his first step into ministry by joining the True North Church team in 2026. He is passionate about helping others grow in their daily walk with Christ and encouraging a life of faithful obedience to His call.
Outside of the church walls, Ben is an avid fitness enthusiast and enjoys spending as much time on the golf course as he can.
